Isabeau believes she has returned to 1407, just before the murder of Louis I of Orleans. She believes she can thwart the conspiracies that followed this tragedy and prevent her son from reclaiming the throne... The idea of preventing the Hundred Years' War is an utopian dream for our queen, who will not be disappointed by this journey through time... How much the Île de la Cité has since changed, but Isabeau remembers the stories and monuments that stood there in her time!
Get to Know Your Guide/Character:
Isabeau is Queen of France, wife of Charles VI, her beloved husband who unfortunately becomes the source of her greatest suffering. In 1392, he showed the first signs of madness that will last 30 years, until his death. In the meantime, it is up to her to take over the regency. She who once loved revelry, dancing, and laughter must now govern a kingdom that despises her. England becomes too intrusive, and her own son humiliates her by sending her into exile and denying her any of her joys. It was more than anyone should have to bear after the death of the only supporters she had left... Well, despite this, she fought and did everything she could, but she was forgotten and persecuted, forced to live in seclusion in her Parisian mansion since 1422... She died 13 years later... Unless she managed to change the past...
