Program

Amidst the conflict between the King of France and the Duke of Brittany, Dinan must protect itself, and this is reflected in the architecture of the major Breton cities. Guided by a 'chaufournière,' a medieval female builder, you will immerse yourself in the daily-life of the 15th century in the midst of the construction of new defenses for the city. This is an opportunity for you to discover medieval construction, the art of warfare, and the daily life of the time.

Get to Know Your Guide/Character:

Barbe is the daughter of a master mason, and although she doesn't have the formal right to run a workshop, she has learned the trade of a builder and works on the many construction sites in the city at that time. She knows the history of her hometown well, as well as the prominent figures who have visited it, and she is always delighted to introduce it to new visitors.
