Visit the Medieval City of Carcassonne in the company of Master Guilhem, a 13th-century Builder. In the year 1269, the construction of the second wall is nearing completion, but the recent appearance of the lower city has brought about significant changes in the city's political organization. Get to Know Your Guide/Character:

Master Guilhem, a master artisan of the Royal City of Carcassonne, is the son of Pierre the Builder, one of King Louis IX's engineers. His father was sent after the end of the Albigensian Crusade in 1229 to carry out significant work in Carcassonne. Guilhem, of Occitan descent, grew up on this immense construction site, of which he is now the manager on this day in 1269.
