Get to Know Your Guide/Character:

Eléonore Broudou was born in the 1750s and spent part of her life on the Isle of France. It was there that she met a handsome navigator, Jean-François de Galaup, known as Lapérouse. Eléonore became Madame de Lapérouse a few years later and experienced Albigeois life during the reign of Louis XVI. It was the King of France himself who sent her husband on an expedition across the Pacific in 1785, following in the footsteps of the great explorers of the Age of Enlightenment.
