Objective:

  • Discover the Saint Etienne district in Toulouse, guided by the bubbly Madame de Cambon, who takes you on a tour of her neighborhood with humor and shares anecdotes and gossip from her time.
  • Immerse yourself in the 18th century, exploring the life and the district of Toulouse's high society on the eve of the French Revolution.
  • Be accompanied by a certified tour guide who mischievously embodies a noblewoman from the 18th century, dressed in a historical outfit.

Program

Discover the refinement of Toulouse in the late 18th century in the company of a certified tour guide. Stroll through the streets of the Saint Etienne district in Toulouse during the Age of Enlightenment. Secret squares, fashion of the time, noble families... The daily life and gossip of Toulouse's high society are laid bare for you!

Get to Know Your Guide/Character:

It's the 1780s, and Mrs. de Cambon is a descendant of the illustrious creator of the Canal du Midi, Pierre-Paul Riquet. Living in Place Saint Etienne in a splendid mansion, she is the wife of a man with an important role in the Parliament of Toulouse, the court of justice representing our beloved King of France, Louis XVI. Madame de Cambon is very proud of her illustrious ancestor, buried in Saint Etienne Cathedral, but she is also passionate about the sensational stories of her century, such as that of the infamous Jean Calas, who is said to have killed his son, or the escapades of Count du Barry, the man who secured one of Louis XV's most famous mistresses.
