The third religious war is brewing from La Rochelle, where Jeanne d'Albret and her son Henri (future Henri IV) have joined the great Protestant leaders. Jeanne d'Albret, surrounded by her court, then takes the reins of the city. What upheavals and important historical events in this prosperous city that was so independent until then!
Stroll through the city with Françoise de Rohan, who brings this era to life for you. From one monument to another, Françoise de Rohan tells you the history of Protestantism, which will lead a few years later to the Grand Siege led by Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu.

Lady of La Garnache and Lady of Nemours, Françoise de Rohan is also a lady at the court of her cousin Jeanne d'Albret, Queen of Navarre. Coming from a prominent Protestant family, she joined Jeanne and her young son Henri, as well as the Huguenot elite, all refugees in La Rochelle.
Alongside Jeanne, who took command of the refuge city, she is in the front row to witness the unfolding of the war and the repercussions on the daily life of a city under the control of great Protestant leaders.

    This visit is suitable for small groups, solo travelers, families, friends, locals, or passing tourists.
