Join us for a journey back to the 18th century, accompanied by our certified tour guide, who will embody Marie Brizard during the visit. Relive the incredible legend of Marie Brizard and take part in the rescue day of January 11, 1755, to help Thomas, a Antillean sailor aboard "l'Intrépide," which lies on the quays, on the still feverishly burning ground. Come to receive and share the gift of gratitude from a sailor healed by Marie Brizard and your care: you will officially receive a part of the secret of a beneficial aniseed drink infused with 11 aromatic herbs!
This secret will simply be the origin of the foundation of the perfumed anisette company, Marie Brizard.
Your guide will immerse you along the quays of the Garonne River in the bustling world of the Bordeaux port activity in the middle of the 18th century.
Get to Know Your Guide/Character:
Marie Brizard, aged 41, is the daughter of a Bordeaux barrel maker, Pierre Brizard. She is unmarried. Her compassionate heart naturally leads her to help the sick in the city. That's why she sees in the revealed secret of the aniseed drink a way to heal and relieve the distress of the moment.
Intelligent, she seizes the opportunity to ally with her nephew Roger and thus develop this drink by founding the Marie-Brizard anisette company.
